Dr. Lou Benson

Dr. Lou Benson has been highly acclaimed as a leading speaker, trainer and consultant to the Healthcare industry.  As President of The Benson Group, Dr. Benson leads a highly qualified team of management and quality consultants.  The Benson Group serves hospitals and healthcare organizations preparing for JCAHO and for those experiencing major changes and reorganization.  

The Health & Sciences Television Network and The American Hospital Association featured several of Dr. Benson's series, The Quality Improvement Initiative, How to Exceed JCAHO Expectations, and Supervisor Skill Builders Workshop

Dr. Benson takes pride in customizing his workshops for leadership retreats, corporate meetings and association conferences.  His most noted seminars include Team Building for Performance Improvement, Leading the Change Process and Managed Care, Costs, Capitation and Consequences.  Each program he delivers is tailored to the specific audience and his customized workbooks have been enthusiastically received as an invaluable reference tool. 

Benson's performance improvement teachings and management philosophies provide educational support training for organizations utilizing other quality improvement models such as Deming, Juran, Crosby, 3-M or Corning, among others.  He is currently working on his new book, "Customer-Supplier Partnering." 

Both Fortune 500 companies and small businesses, including General Electric, E.I. Dupont, Corning Inc. and Upjohn have utilized Dr. Benson's services.  He developed and presented an extensive series of workshops on Cultural Diversity.

Dr. Benson has his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii.  He taught on the faculties of Kent State University and The City University of New York.  Between leaving academia and opening his own firm, he served as Human Resources Director for a medical center in Florida.  Dr. Benson is listed in Who's Who in Leading American Executives.
